Cardboard Art (2016.037.0060)
Description
Painted cardboard box with two angels and painted scraps of paper glued to the box. One piece of paper says, “NEVER SO LOST THAT YOUR ANGELS CAN’T HEAR YOU.” The other piece of paper says, “NEVER ALONE.” On the bottom there is a printed note that says, “An original / Very Mary Designs creation / using recycled materials / Very Mary Designs on Facebook.”
Historical Notes: Mary Chamberlain is an artist from Utica, New York. She repurposes commonly recycled items, such as cardboard boxes and junk mail, into works of art. Three pieces of art made it to Orlando from Utica through Art for the Heart Orlando, a Facebook community of artists from around the world that allows artists to create something to share with the Orlando community.
