Historical Notes: The “One Voice Orlando: A Celebration in Song” benefit concert took place on September 11, 2016 as a way to help strengthen the community after the Pulse Nightclub shooting. The concert included performances from nationally acclaimed singers who were accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a 150-voice chorus made up of members from opera companies from all over Florida. Proceeds from the concert were donated to local health and human-services agencies including the GLBT Center of Central Florida, Proyecto Somos Orlando and the Zebra Coalition.
