Angel Action Wings (Object 6)
Description
White, angel wings costume made from white fabric and PVC pipes.
Historical Notes: The Orlando Shakespeare theatre company made these white wings to be worn by volunteers to shield those mourning from protesters. The Angel Action Wings were inspired by Romain Patterson’s Angel Action Wings, who came up with the idea to use the wings during the court trials for Mathhew Shepard’s killers to deflect protesters. Since then, the strategy has been used at funerals across the nation.
