Patch (2017.025.0002)
Patch with rainbow pattern and black stitching with, “06-12-16 / ORLANDO,” stitched underneath the rainbow pattern.
Historical Notes: Jeffrey D. McFalls, a former Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy and Corrections Officer from Ohio, wanted to create custom patches for his local police department and stumbled upon a website for doing so. After the Pulse Nightclub shooting, using the same site, he designed two patches as a means of extending his sympathy to the Orlando community. As of June 7, 2016, he had sent approximately 125 patches of each design to Orlando with the hopes that they would land into the hands that needed them most. Orlando was the first place he sent custom support patches. Since, he has also designed patches for Dallas and Baton Rouge.
